Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F) or sow seeds in situ.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring to early summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green leaves are lanceolate to narrow elliptical with a prominent mid rib on the upper surface and are bronze tinge along the margin. The apex is acuminate and the petiole is short. The leaves are arranged oppositely to whorled on reddish stems.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have 6-small, fused petals that form a tube with a short pedicle and are orange at the base, becoming yellow towards the tips with exserted stamens. The flowers are arranged in a leafy terminal raceme that appears from late summer to autumn.

Fruit: The small capsule is surrounded by the persistent petals. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
