Propagation
Sow fresh seed singularly in a pot during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75º F).

This plant is resistantto Phytophthora cinnamomi.

General pruning information
This plants tolerate a light prune to a node normally after flowering. Do not prune into old wood as it will not regenerate and if the plant has become leggy and woody it will not regenerate after a hard prune. It requires replacement.


Botanic information
Leaf: The long acicular leaves are grooved and in cross section form a star-shape and the apex is pointed.

Flower: The small tubulate flowers have a purplish base with white rolled petals and a protruding style. They are arranged in an axillary cluster that is up to 35mm (1½in) wide and normally appear on older wood during winter.

Fruit: The narrow beaked follicle has a warty texture and is up to 12mm (¥in) wide and contains winged seeds.
