Propagation
Sow fresh seed singularly in a pot during spring and maintain a temperature of 18º to 21º C. (64º to 75ºf).
General pruning information
These plants tolerate a light prune to a node normally after flowering. Do not prune into old wood as it will not regenerate and if the plant has become leggy and woody it will not regenerate after a hard prune. It requires replacement.
Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green acicular leaves are terete with a pointed apex and are crowded towards the end of the new growth, pointing upwards.
Flower: The tubulate flowers are pink with the perianth segments tipped in white and has protruding style. They are arranged in a dense cluster on a short smooth peduncle and appear on the old wood below the leaves during autumn.
Fruit: The rough textured follicle has a short beak and the viable seeds are winged and germinate readily.
