Propagation
Seeds require scarification by nicking the seed coat and soaking in water for 24 hours.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are obovate (wedge-shape) with a truncate apex that is abruptly acuminate. The petiole is short and the texture is thin leathery with pinnate venation on the upper surface.

Flower: The dull red pendant papillionate flowers are arranged in pairs in the leaf axils. The pedicle is long and the sepals are lightly pubescent. The flowers appear during winter.

Fruit: The elongated pod contains hard seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
