Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy dark green leaves are oval to oblong with an obtuse apex and a very short petiole. They are arranged in opposite pairs alternately along the stems and when crushed they have a slight odour.
Flower: The 5-white petalled crateriform flowers have 8 to 12 stamens and a long slender pedicel. They are crowded in the leaf axils in a upward facing cluster and appear during spring.
Fruit: The fruit is a woody capsule with 2 to 3 chambers and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
