Propagation
Sow seed when ripe and keep moist, maintaining a temperature of 25ºC (77º F). Germination takes up to 90 days to 1-year germinating sporadically. Do not allow the seeds to dry out before sowing.

Contact with the sap may cause skin irritation, wear gloves when handling.     


Botanic information
Leaf: The pinnate fronds have a tubular basal sheath and has 14 to 18 regularly spaced broad linear to lanceolate leaflets that are up to 250mm (10in) long with a larger terminal pair.

Flower: The 3-pettaled cyathiform flowers are arranged in an arching pendant panicle that is up to 230mm (9in) long. The male flowers are arranged in a cluster of 2 to 4 and the female flowers are solitary along the rachillae. They appear during midsummer below the foliage.

Fruit: The small spherical drupe is green, maturing to orange-red and is a feature of the plant.
