Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Divide established clumps in spring or autumn.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery oblong leaves tend to be concave with parallel venation on the upper surface with an acuminate apex and a short petiole. They are arranged spiraly along the stems and the underside is pail green.
Flower: The tubulate flowers have 3-sepals and 3-petals that are up to 25mm (1in) long and are yellow tinged red on the outside and spotted in red on the inside. They are arranged in a dense pendant terminal umbel with up to 50 blooms appearing during late summer and are a feature of the plant.
Fruit: The small oblong capsular fruit contains 3-cells and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
