Sow fresh seed during spring.
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green palmate leaves have a circular outline that is composed of 5 to 7 elliptical to oblong leaflets that are up to 300mm (1ft) long. The petiole is up to 200mm (8in) long and the mid rib and lateral veins are a lighter colour. The leaves are shed during winter for a short period.
Flower: The buds are cigar-shape and the flowers open with large lanced-shape recurved petals that are brownish-white and long exserted stamens. The flowers are arranged in a terminal raceme that appears during dusk in early spring.
Fruit: The small capsule contains seeds that are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
