Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

Take stem cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.


Botanic information
Leaf: The variegated green linear leaves are up to 70mm (3in) wide and are stiff and leathery with sharp serrations along the margins.

Flower: The fragrant white to cream male flowers has many stamens and is arranged in a naked spike that has a spathe-like with bracts. The solitary female flowers appear on a spike that is up to 50mm (2in) wide and are found on a different plant. They both appear during summer.

Fruit: The drupes are massed to form the fruit that splits apart when ripe. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
