Propagation
Sow ripe seed and maintain a temperature of 20º to 25º C. (68º to 77º F).

Divide the plantlets from spring to summer.
Take stem cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period and apply bottom heat.

Culture
When grown under glass plant in a well-drained media with added vermiculite and place in a humid well-lit position with ample ventilation.
During winter reduce watering and in summer avoid making the soil permanently wet.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green opposite elliptical leaves are of unequal size and have a quilted appearance with a purplish coppery ting. The underside is purplish and the leaf is lightly pubescent. The petiole has a medium length and the apex is obtuse.

Flower: The 5-lobed salverform flowers are red, yellow and may have purplish spots in the throat. They are arranged in an axillary raceme that appears from late spring to late summer.

Fruit: The small capsule opens with 2-valves and contains tiny seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
