Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).
Divide the offsets during spring or pot up plantlets during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The blue-green leaves are linear to narrow lanceolate with spiny margins and the underside has whitish scales. The upper surface is concave and the leaves are arching.
Flower: The blue funnelform flowers have three metallic-blue petals, blue stamens that have orange anthers and the stigma is yellow. They are arranged densely in a terminal pyramidal-shaped panicle that is up to 3m (10ft) tall and appear during late spring.
Fruit: The greenish capsule contains winged seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
