Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn in pots and place in an open frame to germinate.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots in summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are ovate to oblong with an acuminate apex and a petiole to 6mm (¥in) long. It has a thin textured and is glabrous beneath and the leaves turn yellow to orange-red during autumn. The ovoid, imbricate buds are sessile with brown scales and are up to 6mm (¥in).

Flower: The tiny flowers are unisexual or bisexual with the green male flowers appearing in the leaf axils of the new growth. The smaller greenish female flowers appear at the tip of the branchlets during spring.

Fruit: The tiny bean-shaped gereen drupe contains wingless seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
