Sow fresh seed during autumn in a prepared bed.
Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The tiny triangular shaped scale leaves have a pointed apex and are arranged in symmetrical pairs, laying flat along the stems. During winter the leaves turn brownish and appear to be dead.
Flower: The yellowish male and female flowers may appear on the same or different plants during spring.
Fruit: The pale brown cone consists of 2 to 4 scales and contains one fertile seed. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
