Propagation
Sow fresh seeds in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate.
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are lanceolate to oblong with a finely serrated margins. The apex is acuminate and the petiole is up to 40mm (1?in) long. During autumn the leaf turns brilliant red before falling and are a feature of the plant.

Flower: The tiny 4-petaled greenish stellate flowers are arranged in an axillary cyme that appers during spring.

Fruit: The pink pendulous capsule has 1 to 4 lobes and contain seeds with an orange-red aril. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
