Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Divide established clumps in spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are ovate to broad lanceolate and is arranged in opposite pairs. The apex is acuminate and the petiole is short with the underside having a white downy appearance.

Flower: The tiny 2-lipped tubulate flowers are arranged in a terminal spike that is up to 80mm (3in) long. The flowers are accompanied by violet bracts and appear during summer.

Fruit: The small nuts are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
