Propagation
Sow fresh seed in autumn or spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate.
Take semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green palmate leaves have 3 to 5 ovate to lanceolate leaflets that are up to 100mm (4in) long with entire or deeply serrated margins and grey tomentose on the underside. The aromatic leaflets have a long petiole and an acuminate apex.
Flower: The small 2-lipped pale blue tubulate flowers are arranged in a terminal panicle that is up to 200m (9in) long and appear during late summer.
Fruit: The small drupe persists on the plant, but is not a feature of the plant and if removed the flowering period is prolonged. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively in order to maintain true to type.
