Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer.
Layering is carried out during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green oval leaves have an acute apex and a short petiole with a sharp serrated margin. During autumn the leaf may turn reddish before falling.
Flower: The very fragrant white to pink salverform flowers are arranged densely in a spherical corymb and appear freely during late spring.
Fruit: The blue-black drupe produces small seeds that are viable but the species often hybridise. To maintain continuity it is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
