Propagation
Take semi-hardwood cuttings up to 50mm (2in) long taken during summer.

Layering is carried out during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The tiny sessile scale leaves are overlapping and have a decussate arrangement along the stems (4-ranked). The sessile globose buds are small, solitary and have 3-scales.

Flower: The small pink flowers are campanulate to tubulate with a 4-lobed calyx that is longer than the corolla. The flowers are arranged in a raceme that is from 25mm to 300mm (1in-12in) in length and appear during midsummer.

Fruit: The capsule has 4-valves and contains tiny seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
