Botanic information
Leaf: The palmately lobed leaves have divisions almost to the mid-vein and these in turn are divided into 2 to 5 lobes with leaflet-like appearance. The apex is cuspidate and the texture is stiff.
The leaves provide excellent protection for small birds.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have perianth segments that are soft pink and the exserted style is white to pink with a green stigma. They are arranged in a pendant terminal cluster that is up to 60mm (2½in) long and appears during early spring.

Fruit: The woody boat-shaped follicle contains 2-winged seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
