Sow fresh seed during spring in pots.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring to early summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The light green long linear sessile leaves have an acute apex and the margins and have 2-stomatic bands. The ovoid buds are pointed with brownish scales that fall away with the new growth.

Flower: The flowers are monoecious and the yellow male flowers are arranged in a cluster on short stalks and the female forms a catkin and both found on the same tree during early summer.

Fruit: The ovate, erect solitary cone consists of deciduous triangular scales that spread releasing seeds before falling. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
