Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Divide the rhizome during spring.
Take basal cuttings during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile dull green lanceolate leaves are downy and the apex is acuminate.
Flower: The mauve flowers are funnelform to stellate with 5-expanding petals that are up to 8mm (?in) long and are arranged in a dense terminal spike that appears during summer.
Fruit: The small capsule contains tiny seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
