Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings during late summer.

Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green leaves are broad-ovate to oblong with a few of the leaves or leaf margins tinged in red. The underside is whitish and the leaves are sessile with an acute apex.

Flower: The crateriform flowers are solitary or arranged in an axillary cyme with up to 11 blooms. The flower has 5-petals with prominent stamens and appears in succession over the plant during summer.

Fruit: The red to black berry-like capsule has small seeds that are viable but the species often hybridise. To maintain continuity it is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
