Propagation
Stratify seeds for 2 to 3 months during winter and sow seeds in pots then place them in an open frame to establish. Germination may take up to 18 months.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green leaves are broad ovate to deltoid and have 3 to 5 lobes. The apex is acute and the underside of the leaf are dull green and the petiole is up to 12mm (½in) long. The sessile oblong buds are solitary or branched and have 6 red-brown fleshy scales.
Flower: The small crateriform flowers are white with pink anthers and are arranged in a dense corymb that is up to 50mm (2in) wide and appear during early summer.
Fruit: The spherical fleshy drupe is persistant on the plant throughout winter.
