General pruning information
This shrub may be pruned after flowering to a bud on the new growth. Care should be taken as the flowers appear on the previous seasons growth.


Botanic information
Leaf: The almost-sessile lanceolate leaves have a prominent mid vein on the upper surface with silvery-grey pubescent on the underside. The apex is acute and the leaves remain on the plant into late autumn before falling.

Flower: The small pink 4-petalled tubulate flowers are arranged in dense panicle-like cluster up to 40mm (1½in) and are spread along and around the stems for up to 1m (3ft). The flowers appear in the leaf axils on the previous season's growth during early summer.

Fruit: The small fruit is a 2-valved capsule and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
