Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are lanceolate to ovate with a serrated margin and have a lighter green mid rib. The apex is acute and the petiole is short. The leaves are a feature of the plant and many cultivars have variegated markings.
Flower: The small green-cream stellate flowers are arranged in an axillary cyme on the non-clinging adult branches and appear in summer but are not a feature of the plant.
Fruit: The capsular fruit has 1 to 4 lobes and contain seeds with an orange-red aril. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
