Propagation
Sow fresh seed in autumn or spring in pots and place out side.
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots from late spring to early summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green leaves are obovate to oblong and the apex is acute to acuminate. The base is cuneate and the texture is thin and is usually glabrous on both surfaces. The margin tends to become entire towards the base and the pubescent petiole is up 20mm (µin) long.
The small, solitary brown buds are loosely scaled. They are ovoid shape and are sessile.
Flower: The small cyathiform flowers have 5 sepals and 5-petals. They are arranged in an upright terminal raceme that is up to 150mm (6in) tall on current year's growth, appearing during spring.
Fruit: The capsule is dehiscent and pubescent with 3-valves and persist through winter. The small fruit produces viable seeds but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
