Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn in a prepared bed.

Take semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Divide suckers when dormant.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glabrous imparipinnate leaves have up to 21 oblong to lanceolate leaflets that are up to 125mm (5in) long. The upper surface is blue green with a lighter coloured mid-rib and an acuminate apex. During autumn the leaves turn an intense red to orange-yellow before falling and is a feature of the plant.

Flower: The tiny flowers are arranged in a upright conical terminal panicle that is up to 250mm (10in) tall and appears above the foliage during summer.

Fruit: The small scarlet drupe is pubescent and arranged in upright clusters. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
