Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.

Note:
The soft stems are slightly prickly and contain milky sap.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are broad ovate with an acuminate apex and greyish-white petiole. The leaf base is uneven and the undersides are lighter green with prominentvenation.

Flower: The short-lived funnelform flowers have a wide mouth up to 200mm (8in) across with greenish bands on the outside and a light yellowish throat. They are arranged in a cyme towards the end of the branches and appear in succession at night during summer.

Fruit: The capsule contains small seeds that are hard coated and may require scarification before sowing. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
