Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. Maintain a temperature of 10º to 13º C. (50º to 55º F) and germination normally takes two weeks.
Divide established clumps during autumn.
Botanic information
Leaf: The cordate leaves are pubescent and have 5 to 7 shallow lobes and the upper surface has marbled markings with prominent veins. The stem leaves are arranged alternately and the leaf underside is purplish.
Flower: The flowers are tubulate to urceolate with a pinkish calyx and white petals of equal length. They are arranged in a loose panicle on a tall leafy scape that appears during early summer.
Fruit: The small capsule contains tiny seeds that are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
