Botanic information
Leaf: The mid-green leaves are lanceolate to oblong with the stalked basal leaves and stem leaves that are sessile or clasping the stem. The leaf tends to be contorted and the underside is slightly pubescent.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have 2-lips, an erect upper that is hooded and the lower spreading lip has 2-teeth. They are arranged in a terminal raceme that is held above the foliage on a tall scape and appears during midsummer.

Fruit: The viable seed is contained in a nutlet that develops inside the calyx. The small seed is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
