Sow fresh seed during spring and place in a cold frame.
Botanic information
Leaf: The curved linear leves are arranged in pairs and persist on the plant for up to 5-years. They have a stiff texture with a blunt apex and stomatic bands on both sides. The sheath is up to 10mm (?in) long and the leaves are dark to yellowish green.
Flower: The tree is monoecious. The small staminate (male) catkin-like flowers appear in a cluster and the pistillate (female) flowers form small cones and appear from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The ovoid-conical cone is almost sessile and upright to pendulous and turns grey-black on maturity.
