Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile mid-green leaves are lanceolate to ovate and tend to arch backwards. The margins are entire to sparsely serrate and the apex is acuminate.
Flower: The 2-lipped tubulate flowers are broader towards the centre giving it a bell-like appearance with the upper lip having 2-lobes and the lower with 3-lobes. The sterile stamen is bearded and the flowers are arranged in a terminal panicle that appears during summer.
Fruit: The small capsule is attached to the persistent calyx and is 2-locular. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be easily reproduced vegetatively.
