Propagation
Stratified the seeds in a moist media for up to 60 days at 7.2ºC(45°F).
Take softwood to semi hardwood cuttings during early summer and placed under mist.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are oval to obovate with the sessile upper leaves forming a disk and the lower having a petiole that is up to 6mm (¥in) long. The upper surface is dark green and the underside is blue-green (glaucous).
Flower: The abundant 2-lipped tubular flowers are scarlet outside and yellowish-orange inside and are arranged in a whorled terminal spike with up to 6-blooms. The flowers appear on the previous seasons and current season`s growth during midsummer.
Fruit: The small bright red berries are viable and attractive to birds but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.If ingested by it may cause stomach upset.
