Propagation
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.

Divide suckers during spring.


Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green ovate leaves are normally glabrous and are paler beneath. The slender petiole is up to 100mm (4in) long and the apex is acuminate. Its texture is soft and the base is slightly cordate. The imbricate buds have 4-6 scales and are up to 6mm (¥in) long.

Flower: The small rotate flowers are mainly fertile and the sterile flowers have large bract-like sepals that are white becoming green with age. The flowers are arranged in a large terminal corymb that appears during early summer.

Fruit: The dehiscent capsule has up to 10-ribs and contains dust-like seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
