Propagation
Stratify seeds for 1 to 2 months during winter in peat and sow seeds in pots then place them in a cold frame. Seeds may be pre soaked for 24 hours prior to stratification.

Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green leaves are broad ovate with 5-tapering lobes. The petiole is long and the leaf base is hastate. During autumn the leaves turns yellow befor falling and the reddish brown buds are imbricate and 4-sided growing to 6mm (¥in) tall.

Flower: The tree is monecious and the male and female flowers may not open at the same time. The tiny greenish yellow flowers have five-pointed calyx with a pedicle up to 12mm (½in) long. They are arranged in an upright terminal corymb that is up to 75mm (3in) wide and appear during early spring.

Fruit: The fruit is a twin samara that is joined at the base and arranged at a 90º angle with obovate reddish wings. The ovoid seed is compressed.
