Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are sessile or has a short petiole and varies from linear to elliptical with an obtuse-mucronate apex. The texture is leathery and may be silky on the underside. The leaves tend to fold upwards and the margin is recurved towards the base.

Flower: The small crimson tubulate flower has a pedicle up to 9mm (?in) long and the oblong perianth segments form a V-shape with a protruding style that is up to 25mm (1in) long. There 8 to 10 flowers arrangedin an axillary cluster towards the end of the branches and they appear from spring to earlay summer.

Fruit: The elliptical follicle is up to 6mm (¥in) wide with a thin pericarp and contains oblong seeds to 10mm (?in) long with revolute margins. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
