Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer and apply bottom heat.
Aerial layering is carried out from spring to summer period.

Botanic information
Leaf: The leaf shape is ovate to oblong and the margin may have some teeth or small lobes. The leaves are arranged in opposite pairs with a short petiole and have an acuminate apex.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have 5-purplish expanded petals and a yellowish to white tube. The slender pedicle is up to 25mm (1in) long and the flowers appear in the leaf axils during summer.

Fruit: The small capsule opens longitudinally and has 2-valves with flat seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
