Botanic information
Leaf: The small dark green leaves are oblong to lanceolate with a flattish appearance. The apex is obtuse and the petiole is short.
Flower: The tiny 2-lipped campanulate flowers have 5-fused sepals and spreading petals that form a 2-liped tube with the upper one having three teeth. The throat is bearded and broad. They are arranged in a terminal raceme and are accompanied by leaf-like bracts above the foliage on a leafy scape during early summer.
Fruit: The small nut contains tiny seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
