Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.
Divide the rhizome during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The grey-green sessile leaves are oblong to ovate with a quilted-like upper surface and are lighter green underneath and covered with white pubescence. The margin is undulating and may be recurved and when crushed they have a apple-like scent.
Flower: The tiny 2-lipped tubulate flowers have 4-spreading lobes and are surrounded by leafy bracts. They are arranged in a terminal spike that appears during summer.
Fruit: The small nut is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
