Propagation
Stratify fresh seeds for 2 to 3 months at 5º C (41ºF) then sow in spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F).
Take semi-hardwood cuttings during summer and apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The grey-green leaves are oblong to lanceolate with a 3-toothed apex. The surface is pubescent and the texture is leathery.
Flower: The spherical terminal inflorescence consists of tubular flowers that have a yellow tip and become reflexed with age. They appear solitary or in pairs on a tall scape from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The fruit is a small nutlet and the tiny seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
