Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green leaves are broad-lanceolate with pubescent pale green underside and are fragrant. The texture is leathery and the petiole is up to 12mm (¥) long. The apex is acuminate and the mid-rib and lateral veins visible on both sides.
Flower: The yellow-white campanulate flowers have short rounded petals with conspicuously larger lanced-shaped greenish sepals that are persistent on the plant. These are arranged in a small flat terminal cluster that is held above the foliage on a long slender scape and appear during early summer.
Fruit: The small 2-celled capsule is enclosed within the calyx. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
