Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and in cold climates place in a cold frame.
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Divide established clumps during spring.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are lanceolate to ovate with a thickish texture and tend to fold upwards. When crushed they have a caraway, nutmeg or lemon scent depending on the genotype.
Flower: The small 2-lipped campanulate flowers are composed of 5-fused sepals forming a 2-liped tube with the upper one having three teeth. The throat is bearded and broad. They are arranged in a axillary whorled raceme and are a pale pink colour. The flowers appear during midsummer.
Fruit: The tiny nut produces numerous small seeds that are very viable. The plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
