Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring in pots and in cold climates place in a cold frame.

Divide established clumps (offsets) during autumn.


Botanic information
Leaf: The semi-evergreen lax lanceolate leaves have a fleshy texture and tend to die off during late summer with new leaves appearing in autumn.

Flower: The small stellate flowers are arranged in a terminal conical raceme with up to 100 long-stem blooms. It is held above the foliage on a scape that is up to 300mm (12in) tall and appears during spring.

Fruit: The small capsule contains tiny seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
