Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn and allow up to 2 years for germination.

Take semi-hardwood cuttings of 'Tree Peonies' during early summer.
Divide herbaceous species from autumn to spring.

All parts of this plant are toxic and if ingested it will causing stomach upset and or vomiting.

Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green imparipinnate leaves have leaflets that are broad ovate and are have pointed lobes. The underside is prominently veined and the leaflet tends to fold upwards.

Flower: The single cyathiform flowers are solitary or arranged in a small cluster and have masses of short yellow stamens surrounding the two ovaries. They have large rounded petals that are purple-red to pinkish and the flowers appear during spring.

Fruit: The pod-like folicle contains two large seeds. The small seed is not commonly used and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
