Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 24º C. (66º to 77º F).
Take soft tip cuttings in spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Botanic information
Leaf: The silver-green leaves are elliptical to lanceolate and tend to fold upwards. Both surfaces are covered in a silvery tomentose and the underside is light green. It has a very short petiole and the apex is obtuse.
Flower: The small axillary campanulate flowers have 5-petals. The colour is reddish to lavender but varieties also include white, purple or pink. They appear throughout the year after consistent rain or during summer.
Fruit: The small capsule contains seeds that are viable but are not commonly used as the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
