Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring in pots and in cold climates place in a cold frame.
Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.
Divide established clumps during autumn.
Botanic information
Leaf: The small mid-green obovate leaves have a cuneate base and are covered in fine stelate hairs. The texture is fleshy and the margins may have small lobes.
Flower: The mauve to purple salverform 4-petalled flowers may be single or double and are available in many shades of purple. they appear above the foliage in small racemes from late spring to summer.
Fruit: The small siliqua fruit contains tiny seeds that are viable but rarely come true to the cultivar and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
