Propagation
Sow fresh seeds and place in a cold frame until germination occurs. Prick out and pot up into a well drained media. When planting out space the seedlings and 38 mm (15 in) apart.
Divide the rhizome from autumn to late winter.
Botanic information
Leaf: The predominantly basal leaves are pinnately lyrate and the upper leaves are oval-like. They are arranged alternately with coarsely serrated margins and large stipules.
Flower: The yellow rotate flower is held above the foliage on a long scape and has 5-rounded petals with 5-sepals that are pointed. They appear from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The small achene has hooked bristles that aid in the scrambling habit of the plant. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
