Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F).
Take semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Divided suckers during late winter.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate-oblong to elliptical and the upper surface is slightly corrugated with deep-set veins. It has an undulating margin with an acuminate apex and a short petiole.
Flower: The small salverform flowers are arranged in dense terminal panicle that is up to 130mm (5in) long. The flower colour is scarlet and the calyx is purplish. They appear from summer to autumn.
Fruit: The small drupe separates into 4-one seeded articles and is viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
