Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn to spring in pots, as seedlings are difficult to transplant and in cold climates place in a cold frame.

Take soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during spring and semi hardwood cuttings during summer.

Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are lanceolate to linear and is covered in a sticky resinous coat, which becomes fluid-like during the hot part of the day. They tend to fold upwards along the midrib and have a small or no petiole with the leaf clasping the stem.

Flower: The white crateriform flowers have 5-petals that may have crimson markings at the base and a yellow centre. They are arranged terminally on small axillary shoots and have 3-large, 2-small sepals and has a superior 1-celled ovary. They appear from spring to early summer.

Fruit: The small capsule has 10-valves and releases tiny seeds that contain endosperm. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
