Propagation
Sow fresh seed thinly during spring and maintain a temperature of 12º to 15º C. (55º to 59º F) and prick out when large enough to handle.

It is difficult to divide the clump as mature plants respond poorly.

Botanic information
Leaf: The basal mid-green leaves are lanceolate to linear with the smaller leaves clasp the stem. The basal leaves are arranged in rosettes and the texture is leathery.

Flower: The blue craterform flowers appear for one day after which they twist up spirally and are arranged in a terminal spike-like panicle on a tall slender leafy scape that appears from late spring to early summer.

Fruit: The small capsule contains several seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
